Hertz is now the first and only car hire company in Sweden to offer wheelchair accessible rental cars. For us, it is important to meet people's need for movement with smart mobility solutions.
For those who need specially adapted cars, there is now the Ford Custom Kombi. A converted car where you can safely and securely bring a wheelchair and at the same time have room for 7 passengers.
The cars are currently available to book at the Hertz city office on Mäster Samuelsgatan and in Gothenburg at Landvetter Airport. You book as usual via our website and find our specially adapted Ford Custom Kombi in car group W2.
Facts about the car
- The car is adapted in cooperation with Star Mobility
- Ordinary B driving licence required
- Max weight wheelchair (without user) 170kg
- Max weight of ramp 400kg, which includes user and wheelchair.
- The ramp is approximately 2.8m long when fully developed and 90cm wide.
- The wheelchair space is just over 90x90cm
- Anchorage points for fixing the wheelchair to the floor approved for 200kg.
- If more space for the wheelchair is desired, we can also remove the two seats that are in front of this wheelchair space. This also removes 2 seats in the minibus.
- If you want to adjust the number of seats or need other assistance, you must pick up the car during the office's manned opening hours, which are weekdays 08.00 - 17.00.
