Genuinely accessible holiday cottages are quite hard to find but Pollaughan both Willows and Meadows Cottages have have been thoughtfully planned and beautifully furnished to enable anyone to enjoy a holiday.
Level access thresholds, open plan layouts with wooden floors and wet rooms mean that the less mobile can easily access everything. The owners appreciate that the accommodation might not suit everyone, and the cottages are different in their accessibility in the bathrooms, so therefore please discuss your needs with the owners so they can help you decide which will be suitable for you. Shower chairs are available if required.
Meadows has 3 bedrooms and two bathrooms. The family bathroom shared by two of the bedrooms is the accessible wet room. A huge bathroom room with clear space to one side of the toilet and a completely open wet shower area with no screens so fine for those who cannot weight bear at all and are completely wheelchair dependent.
Willows has 3 bedrooms and two bathrooms. The accessible wet room is the en-suite carefully planned for ease of use and has a generous contained wet floor shower area with glass screen which can be used by someone in a shower chair. Please note it does not have clear space for transfer direct from wheelchair to the side of the toilet, but has grab rail etc so better suited to someone who can stand and take a few steps.
Note: Dogs are accepted subject to discussion with the owners.
