I’m Asmae,  and I live in a small Dutch village. My main goal with this blog is to inform and inspire people with stories about my travels. I want everybody to experience the pleasure I live when I’m travelling. I’m in a wheelchair as you might have guessed. It is because I suffer from Limb Girdle Muscular Dystrophy type 2D (LGMD2D). This form of muscular dystrophy is very rare.

LGMD2D develops weakness in the muscle and that’s why I can’t walk or use my arms. In fact, in the last couple of years most of my muscles have been affected by LGMD2D. I need help with all that I do, such as eating or getting out of bed. I use a lot of medical equipment to get by, including a passive hoist (patient lift) and my powerchair. LGMD2D is progressive, meaning it won’t get any better, only worse. But that really isn’t stopping me from doing what I love.

I’m fascinated with journeying across the world and exploring new places. I made my first international trip to Florida in 2017! And so in 2019 I wanted to use blogging to share my travel experiences. It’s never easy to plan trips but it’s so much harder to plan accessible trips. Planning can become more doable with tips and tricks. And that is precisely what I will share with you!
