Located on the iconic and accessible Cairns Esplanade, the Spinal Life Healthy Living Centre is dedicated to supporting the health and wellbeing of people with spinal cord damage and other physical disabilities. Everything about the Centre has been built to be fully accessible for wheelchair and mobility device users, from the accommodation to the Active Gym, Café and Community Rooms.
We’ve drawn upon 60 years of experience in supporting people with spinal cord damage and physical disability to inform the construction and delivery of our flagship Healthy Living Centre and we are proud to provide important services for residents and visitors of Far North Queensland.It’s not just the rooms that are accessible at the Spinal Life Healthy Living Centre.
Your accommodation is just a stone’s throw away from the beautiful Cairns Esplanade, a 2.5km stretch of wheelchair accessible waterfront and one of Cairns’ most popular must-do tourist destinations. The Centre is a great place to relax, work on your health and wellbeing or to come home to after a long day of exploring all this stunning region of Far North Queensland has to offer. Everything in our accommodation suites has been designed with accessibility and your comfort in mind.
The Healthy Living Centre features seven self-contained, fully accessible units, with one or two bedrooms and water views available. Each bedroom contains a height adjustable bed and ceiling hoist and left or right transfer bathrooms, while you can control the electronics, lights and blinds remotely with a provided tablet.
We offer options for guests looking for a North Queensland short-term, transitional or holiday accommodation and cater for guests who are self-funded or are funding their stay under their NDIS plan.

Our equipment and exercise programs are designed specifically for people with spinal cord damage and other disabilities to stay fit and healthy and assist with pain management. To really get the most of your workout routines, our expert Physiotherapist and Exercise Physiologist are on hand to develop a training plan that works for you.
