The Brownsea Seahorse is a landing craft, purchased by the National Trust in 2016 to support a variety of essential island operations but primarily, it enables wheelchair users access to the island.

Please note that the Brownsea Seahorse is an open vessel and therefore open to the elements and there are no facilities on board. The crossing takes approximately 10 mins.
The service frequency
The Seahorse is a bookable service, meaning it will only run when booked by visitors who wish to come. See our website for a list of times when it is possible to run the service. Full payment will be taken at the time of the booking.
Our Seahorse landing craft sailing times have been carefully chosen primarily to fit in with tide times in Poole harbour. The craft requires at least a tide height of 1.75m at the Harbour Entrance to run a return trip safely. As with all boat services to the island, this service may also be cancelled due to bad weather but we will provide prior notice if this happens.The pickup location is from Sandbanks Yacht Company slipway and the post code is BH13 7RD
Please note the Sandbanks Yacht Company operates a working boat yard so please be aware of vehicle & boat movements while on site. Visitors using the Seahorse boat service are welcome to use the Sandbanks Yacht Company’s Boatyard Café Bar.
