About Ropers Walk Barns

Our barns have been converted to residential holiday accommodation with the wheelchair user in mind. We have also taken into consideration the needs of visually and hearing impaired guests. Depending upon the needs of our guests, additional equipment can be provided and a hire list made available. Care packages are also available from local agencies if required. We welcome questions prior to booking to ensure that, as far as possible, we are able to meet the special requirements of our guests. We have taken great care to design a comfortable and attractive environment for your stay whilst also ensuring that provisions for extra needs have been made.

“The Byre” Disabled Holiday Accommodation

The Byre disabled holiday accommodation is single storey on a level site offering spacious and quality accommodation. Immediately outside the main entrance door is Tarmaced car parking space. The Byre has been assessed for the National Accessible Scheme and graded mark 3. We have made the bedrooms as adaptable as possible by offering a choice of twin beds or a large double bed in each and bespoke dressing tables with clear under spaces. The en suite shower room with a thermostatically controlled shower has a wet area with an adjustable height washbasin. 

The toilet enables transfer from either side. As an extra convenience we have included a body dryer and self-propelled shower chair which will fit over the toilet. The second bathroom has a thermostatically controlled shower over the bath, a washbasin and toilet. Each of these rooms has anti-slip flooring. The living room, comprising kitchen, dining and seating areas is open plan for ease of movement. The hob and sink have space underneath to allow easy access for a wheelchair user. Depending upon the individual needs of our guests, additional equipment can be provided and a hire list made available. “The Corn Store” Disabled Holiday Accommodation

The Corn Store disabled holiday accommodation is two storeys with a through floor wheelchair lift in addition to a traditional staircase. Lift size 720mm wide x 980mm long. The outside is level with car parking immediately in front of the entrance door and patio areas to the front and rear of the property.

The ground floor comprises one bedroom with two single beds, dressing table with under space, touch lamp and clock radio. To the second bed is bedside table with touch lamp. A sliding door connects the bedroom to the en suite wet room which includes a thermostatically controlled shower with two vertical grab rails; a toilet which enables transfer from either side with fold down rails; wash basin with vertical rail and electric heated towel rail. For additional convenience we have included a body dryer and self-propelled shower chair which will fit over the toilet. The second wet room has a thermostatically controlled shower, wash basin, toilet and electric towel rail.

The first floor is open plan with seating, dining and kitchen areas allowing ease of movement. A combined TV/DVD is mounted on the wall. The dining table has a clear under space. The L-shaped kitchen has a hob and sink with under spaces and oven at accessible level to wheelchair users.
