We are proud to offer our Coria Lodge, here at Vindomora Country Lodges, for guests with restricted mobility. About Us
The Lodge provides luxurious accommodation, in tranquil surroundings on the banks of the River Derwent in Northumberland and commands a spectacular view of the nearby countryside and is accessible to all.
The Coria Lodge was also the Gold Award Winner in the Accessible and Inclusive Award Category, North East England Tourism Awards 2022.
We have liaised with previous guests and with the Charcot Marie Tooth UK charity (reg 1112370) to ensure that we provide a lodge that will be suitable for guests with restricted mobility. This lodge has a ramped access, wheelchair accessible wider doors, a disabled shower cubicle in the main bathroom together with a raised toilet and grab rails, a standard toilet in the ensuite, plus space for equipment that guests may need to bring.
In the main bedroom, there is a rail and portable hoist system and sling to assist guests. This can be removed when the lodge is hired by able bodied guests.
The covered hot tub, which has amazing views, is also fitted with a rail for the portable hoist and separate outdoor sling.
Some of our guests hire a Profile Bed and we can facilitate the delivery and set up before arrival and collection after departure if required. Contact us for more information.

This lodge derives its name from the nearby Roman Fort and Town of Corchester, now known as Corbridge, a Market Town to the west of Vindomora Country Lodges. Coria was established at a meeting point of Dere Street, a north – south road where it bridged the River Tyne and met another Roman road, Stanegate which ran east – west. Dere Street actually ran some 200 yards away from our lodges and crossed the River Derwent in Ebchester (Vindomora).
Corbridge is located near to the nearby Roman Wall, built on the orders of the Roman Emperor Hadrian in AD122. In 1987, Hadrian’s Wall was made into a UNESCO World Heritage Site and therefore is acknowledged as a site of outstanding value to humanity
In your lodge you will find a Super King bed, 2 single beds which can also be made into a Super King size and a bed settee offering accommodation for 6 persons.
Included for your comfort and convenience will be a private Hot Tub to relax in and a real log stove with an initial, complimentary basket of logs; a washing machine, dishwasher, fridge and separate freezer, hob and oven: bed linen, towels and robes. We even do robes for the children (5-12 yrs).
Each Lodge also has complimentary toiletries, including hand wash, shampoo and shower gel.
Finally, enjoy a complimentary bottle of wine on us when you arrive!
