Hello! We are Karla and Stephen, a young couple from Dorset, UK. We met at school and have been putting up with each other since we were just 14 (I know, I deserve a medal!).
But we are not your average couple. I have a genetic condition called Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) which means that all of my muscles are weak and I need an electric wheelchair to get around. You may think this would hold us back, but we’ve never allowed my disability to stop us doing what we want to do, we might just have to do things in a slightly different way.
Both Stephen and I have always been adventurous and love being outdoors, spending most of our free time going for scenic walks/rolls and exploring new places, so a caravan seemed like our ideal way to travel. But the lifestyle appealed to us in many more ways, it not only gives you great spontaneity and freedom to explore the whole of Europe, but it also eliminates the hassle of finding wheelchair accessible accommodation- because we tow our very own “hotel-on-wheels” behind us everywhere we go.
We love nothing more than hitching up and heading off on an adventure together, and have already travelled thousands of miles and made millions of memories, but there’s still so much to explore!

Adventure Wheels was started as a small blog in 2017 to keep a virtual diary of our trips, but has quickly grown from there. We aim to bring you travel inspiration, useful tips and reviews for everyone to enjoy, no matter what your abilities are.
Although I (Karla) do the majority of the writing, Adventure Wheels is very much a team effort. We both love planning trips together and coming up with content ideas that we can share with you, and Stephen is the main photographer.
